West Side Elementary School, in Cold Spring Harbor School District, was bursting at the seams with excitement as students and staff welcomed back Hollyrocks.
Hollyrocks brought the whole school together for a jeopardy-style trivia challenge focusing on subjects including history, geography, math problem-solving, spelling challenges, hula hoop competitions, tug of war, Simon Says and more. Hollyrocks was created by Hollyrocks Entertainment, the creator of the original Brain Challenge.
Many of the students participated and everyone shared their enthusiasm and school spirit by cheering on either the blue or red team. Even the teachers had an opportunity to score points for their teams by quickly hitting the buzzer and showing off their knowledge of trivia. Both the blue and red teams did an amazing job.
The sound of screams cheering for fellow classmates and teachers was intense to say the least. This was the first time principal John Barnes experienced Hollyrocks and he proved to be the biggest cheerleader of all. Special thanks to the Cultural Arts Committee for sponsoring this wonderful educational and collaborative experience.
