East Meadow Promotes Mental And Physical Health During Wellness Week

From May 22-26, students throughout the East Meadow School District participated in numerous activities to celebrate Wellness Week.

East Meadow Promotes Mental And Physical Health During Wellness Week

Students at East Meadow High School enjoyed fresh air and experienced the positive benefits of sunlight during their annual Wellness Walk.

Activities throughout the district included Wellness Walks, active relays, writing and sharing positive affirmations, and yoga, among other activities. Wellness Week gives students the opportunity to engage in wellness activities through movement, conversation, classroom activities, games and stories. Students learned about the importance of overall wellness as a key to success, both in and outside the classroom.

Classes at Meadowbrook Elementary School teamed up to participate in active relays.

The district’s celebration of Wellness Week also coincides with Mental Health Awareness Month, a national movement to raise awareness about mental health.
