East Islip Board Of Education Recognizes More Than 70 Accomplished Musicians

More than 70 accomplished student-musicians were recognized at the East Islip School District Board of Education’s Feb. 15 meeting, presented by Art and Music Director Dr. Rob Wottawa, for their selection to the Long Island String Festival Association’s honor orchestras and the Suffolk County Music Educators’ Association All-County Festival.

“These types of concerts and opportunities do not happen without the support of our board of education, superintendent and assistant superintendents, and the work that each of us do every single day,” Dr. Wottawa said. “And we are blessed to have fantastic teachers that support our children each and every moment of each and every day. It’s those little things that make a huge difference in their lives, and we hope that the memories that they gain from their experiences here at East Islip will stay with them forever.”
