Dockside Family Festival

The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce that the annual Dockside Family Festival will take place on Saturday, September 9th at Captree State Park in Babylon from 11:00AM to 5:00PM, rain or shine.

This festival offers fun for the entire family! Adults can enjoy live music as well as a variety of merchandise and food vendors. Activities for children include interactive pirate shows, pony rides, magic shows, boat rides (children must be accompanied by an adult) and much more! All activities are free; however, there is an $8.00 vehicle use fee in effect from 8:00AM to 4:00PM.

This event is sponsored by the Natural Heritage Trust and the Long Island State Park Region. Corporate contributors include Connoisseur Media Long Island, Tike Joe’s at Captree, Captree Bait, Tackle and Fuel, Catholic Health, Renewal by Andersen of Long Island, Power Home Remodeling Group, and New York Life.

Captree State Park is home to the “Captree Fishing Fleet”, New York State’s largest fishing fleet. Available year-round, the fleet is comprised of 17 open and charter fishing boats. Other features at Captree include fishing piers, a large refreshment stand and restaurant, picnic areas, bait and tackle shop and comfort stations.

Captree State Park is located on Ocean Drive, Exit 40 off the Robert Moses Causeway. It can be reached via the Southern State Parkway, Ocean Parkway, Sunrise Highway or Montauk Highway.
