Deer Park High School’s French Honor Society hosted a memorable Haitian Dinner on May 18, encompassing music, food, fashion, art and entertainment. Sam Adolphe, the society’s treasurer, demonstrated how to say “welcome” in Haitian Creole.
Attendees also enjoyed dance lessons, a fashion show and feasted on a menu of traditional Haitian favorites such as griot, diri djon djon, pate kode and shaved ice. The high school has 24 students and two staff members that speak Haitian Creole.
