Four juniors from Walter G. O’Connell Copiague High School – Hadasa Argueta, Giselle Peralta, Jorge Villatoro, and Jose Villatoro – are participating in the Angelo Del Toro Puerto Rican Hispanic Youth Leadership Institute. As part of their training, they met with Assemblywoman Kimberly Jean-Pierre to ask her opinion on a number of bills currently being debated in the New York Assembly. If they are selected, the students will travel to Albany to discuss these bills with students from all across the state. They are the only group of students allowed to utilize the New York Assembly chambers.
