Connetquot High School sophomore Sofia Policano will join outstanding students from across the nation to take part in the prestigious National Youth Leadership Forum: Engineering, to be held this summer at Georgia Institute of Technology (Georgia Tech).
NYLF Engineering is one of the Envision by WorldStrides family of programs that provides opportunities for students to explore their interests and experience learning outside the classroom. With the goal of becoming an architect, Sofia is looking forward to an introduction of engineering concepts, gaining hands-on experience with industry experts, and participating in real-world problems in the program-long Capstone Impact Challenge.
Sofia has made the Principal’s High Honor Roll every semester of her high school career and excels at math and science. She was recently inducted as an inaugural member of the Connetquot High School chapter of the National English Honor Society and is an Advanced Placement student. Sofia is also an avid dancer and artists, as well as a member of the high school’s Kickline team and competition teams.
The Connetquot Central School District congratulates Sofia on this outstanding accomplishment.
