Spring has come to life for the student-artists in Ms. Hill’s class at Deauville Gardens West Elementary School in the Copiague School District. Using all the colors of the new season, the students created tree frogs using watercolor paints. They learned all about the rainforest and created collages featuring different elements of the forest with their frogs. Fifth grade artists, inspired by works of Alma Thomas, designed mosaic landscape pieces using short brushstrokes. They also learned how to mix colors that are next to each other on the color wheel to create new ones.
