Blue Point Elementary School teacher Ms. Salgado read, “A Very Full Morning,” to her kindergarten students on Outdoor Classroom Day.

Instead of academic studies taking place inside the school’s four walls, students rotated throughout the day to participate in activities and lessons in their classrooms.

Students learned the art of tie-dye, read books in the school’s reading patio, performed science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics activities and physical education lessons on the school playground.

Not only did the students and teachers enjoy being out of the classroom, getting outside shed a new light on their learning.
