Prior to the Bethpage Union Free School District’s first day of school on Sept. 1, incoming ninth graders entered Bethpage High School on Aug. 24 for orientation. The students were excited to be back with their peers and to get a taste of their new school environment before the new school year began.
They were welcomed by building administrators and participated in a grade-level meeting in the school auditorium. Following the meeting, the rising freshmen toured the school building with upperclassmen who served as mentors for the day. With their high school schedules in hand, the students visited their new classrooms and became acclimated with their surroundings. The day concluded with refreshments for the ninth graders.
