Excitement permeated the air as 129 incoming sixth grade students entered James Wilson Young Middle School on Aug. 24 for the school’s annual Locker Day and Walk Through.

Incoming sixth grade students gathered in James Wilson Young Middle School’s courtyard on Locker Day for a bagel breakfast.
Students and their parents met in the courtyard for a bagel breakfast and then attended a brief welcome assembly with Principal John Andruszkiewicz, who described the tone of the year as one of “optimism.”

During Locker Day, 129 incoming sixth grade students received a tour of James Wilson Young Middle School and an opportunity to open their lockers.
The students were then divided into blue and gold teams and were given a tour of the building by student members of the Superintendent’s Council.
