Assemblyman Durso Holds Food Drive To Address Critical Need

Assemblyman Michael Durso, in coordination with Long Island Cares and ShopRite Massapequa, recently held a 2-day food collection event to address the critical need for food assistance throughout Long Island communities.

“As Long Islanders struggle to keep up with rising costs, my office will continue to host essential food and supply drives to help our neighbors in need,” said Durso. “This event was a huge success collecting over 2,500 pounds of food thanks to the overwhelming generosity of all who donated. Special thanks to Long Island Cares and ShopRite Massapequa for continually supporting our communities especially during these trying times.”

All items collected through the food drive benefitted Long Island Cares Inc. – The Harry Chapin Food Bank which assists Long Islanders in need.
