Special Needs Children From NY Friendship Circle Support Children in Shelters

The NY Friendship Circle partnered with the organization Bake Back America/Joggers for Juniors for a mega tie-dying event that culminated with a donation of more than 200 sweatpants to children living in local homeless shelters. Children and young adults with special needs from The NY Friendship Circle, along with volunteers and parents, gathered at The Chai Center playground in Dix Hills for a colorful and festive afternoon of community service tie-dying pants to show their support for teens who are facing hardships. The jogger pants will be donated to three charities, including Bethany House of Nassau County.

Joggers for Juniors
Launched by 17-year-old Emma Klein of West Islip, NY, Bake Back America/Joggers for Juniors was created to give children with special needs a platform to give back to individuals and communities especially in times of need. This effort focuses on a warm and supportive environment that empowers these children to feel confident that they too can impact others. The inspiration behind Joggers for Juniors was to connect two very special communities, one with special needs and one faced with life’s hardships to take that jog down the path together.
