Legislator Leslie Kennedy Kicks Off The 2025 Nesconset Chamber Of Commerce Concert Series

On Wednesday, July 9th, Legislator Leslie Kennedy and the Nesconset Chamber of Commerce kicked off the 2025 Summer Concert Series. The concert series takes place every Tuesday at 7 PM at Gazebo Park, which is located next to the Nesconset Branch of the Smithtown Library. If a concert is postponed due to rain, it will be rescheduled to the Wednesday of that week, which was the case for the July 8th concert.

Each concert in the series is opened with a performance of the National Anthem sung by local high schoolers. Adrienne Porti and Laurie Kratochvil, both recent graduates of Smithtown High School East, sung the National Anthem for the July 9th Concert. Legislator Kennedy was introduced to the two through Mark Hegreness, the Choral Director of Smithtown High School East.

The band performing for the inaugural show was Radio Flashback, a local cover band known for their performances of hit songs from the 1970s and 1980s. The band was extremely well received by the crowd of over a thousand people, where they played myriad songs from the aforementioned two-decade span.

Vendors also lined the perimeter of the concert, featuring typical fair food, like hot dogs, ice cream, and funnel cakes.

The remaining dates of the 2025 Nesconset Chamber of Commerce Summer Concert Series are as follows:

July 22nd – Decadia – Ultimate 80s Experience

July 29th – That 70’s Band

August 5th – JD Leonard & Co – Decades of Country Music

August 12th – Wonderous Stories – Classic Rock & More

August 19th – To be announced

August 26th – To be announced

The concert series is sponsored by Legislator Leslie Kennedy through the Hotel-Motel Tax; a tax levied on facilities providing short-term lodging with the purpose of providing funds for legislators to use towards culturally enriching or historic events in their districts. Other organizations that Legislator Kennedy sponsors through the Hotel-Motel Tax include the Smithtown Performing Arts Center, The Smithtown Historical Society Farm, the Ronkonkoma Historical Society, the Lake Ronkonkoma Heritage Foundation, and various other chambers of commerce throughout her district.
