A Teen Mind & Body “In Harmony” class is also available, incorporating yoga, somatic movements, breathwork and meditation. Families and friends can sign up to watch a movie under the stars at Callahan’s Beach. Adults in need of a little getaway can register for the “Fall Day On Long Island” and enjoy wine tastings, lunch at Greenport Harbor Brewing Company and possibly stop by the farms out east. Finally, mark your calendars (no registration required) for the Annual Ghosts & Goblins Day, on Saturday, October 19th.
“The incredible lineup of classes, events, and family oriented activities organized by the team at Smithtown’s Recreation department are so popular that our residents don’t want the Summer to end. Thanks to Director Tom McCaffrey and his amazing team, we have an unbelievable Fall offering of unique classes such as horseback riding, and Yoga, or take a relaxing trip (adults 21+) out east to the Vineyards and Brewery. The Smithtown Recreation Department has put forth an outstanding Autumn season of programming for all to enjoy and have really outdone themselves this year.” – Supervisor Edward R. Wehrheim

No experience necessary. Wear something comfortable. We will meet the first Saturday of every month for a 1 1/2 hour class. Get some friends together and have some fun dancing and getting in tip-top shape!
Fall Meditation Classes:
Looking for a welcome relief from day-to-day stresses and worries? Come and cultivate your spirit. Class will begin with an exercise session to open and circulate energy throughout the physical body followed by a “silent” sitting meditation period (approx. 30 min) to bring stillness to both the body and mind, with a focus on breath. Our minds are guided by the breath to bring clarity, peace and stillness during this time. After sitting meditation, soft music will be played to freely explore meditative movement guided by the flow of energy. A delicious herbal tea will then be offered with an opportunity to share your insights and experience of the class with others in the class and to ask questions to the instructor.
Class meets once a week for 4 consecutive weeks.
Teen Mind & Body “In Harmony” Classes (Ages 14 to 18) at Zero Point Energy Training Ctr
Sessions run each Tuesday for 5 consecutive weeks from 4pm to 5pm. Classes will be held at Zero Point Energy Training Center (formerly Body & Brain Training Center) located at 19 East Main Street, Smithtown, NY. Comfortable attire recommended.
Teen Mind & Body “In Harmony” class is a program that incorporates yoga, somatic movements, breathwork and meditation to teach teens to release emotional stress and develop self awareness. This class will help to relax the nervous system and empower teens to cope with the everyday challenges of life. Through movement and meditation they will develop a deeper connection with their growing body and mind to learn to love and respect both themselves and others.
