One of Islip High School’s fashion classes recently visited Manhattan’s Fashion Institute of Technology, a school renowned for its expertise in fashion design, merchandising and business. During the Dec. 4 field trip, students had the opportunity to explore the world of fashion and experience a college visit, as they attended an informational lecture about FIT and took a guided tour of the campus. This provided students with the opportunity to view state-of-the-art design studios, fashion laboratories and exhibition spaces. They also had the chance to interact with faculty members and current students who shared their experiences and insights into the fashion industry.
“Through this college visit, students gained valuable knowledge about the educational programs and resources available at FIT, inspiring them to pursue their passion for fashion and preparing the students to be college and career ready,” fashion teacher Alexandra Catalano said.
