Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer Michael Serao has been a part of the banking community for more than 20 years. In addition to his personal philanthropy, he has spent his career, giving back to others. Now, he is thrilled to be appointed to the board of Life’s WORC whose mission is to support people with intellectual disabilities and autism.
“There’s something about this organization that really resonated with me,” says Serao. “I’ve been supporting nonprofits for a long time, and I know how hard it can be for someone with an intellectual disability especially autism to find quality inclusive services.”
Life’s WORC Founder, Vicky Schneps, was thrilled to begin a new chapter of work together. “As the Founder of Life’s WORC, I couldn’t be prouder or happier that Michael Serao is joining our team. He brings professionalism in fundraising, business acumen, and a track record of success to our Board team.”
Life’s WORC provides a broad range of resources for those living with intellectual disabilities and autism, as well as their families and caregivers. “LIFE’s WORC is here to help them understand what they’re going through,” says Serao. “And I’m glad to now be a part of that.”
Serao believes that finding support can make all the difference in the world when you’re faced with challenges: “No matter what your situation is or where you come from, we want everyone to feel welcome here,” says Serao. Michael’s cousin, Vincent Serao, was one of the first residents at the Geraldo Rivera house when Life’s WORC was first formed to receive life-changing services. Since then, Michael has made it his life mission to support this community and help improve the lives of individuals living with autism now by joining Life’s WORC.
“It’s my personal mission to help expand and grow Life’s WORC so that more families can benefit from this amazing organization,” says Serao. “It’s an honor to be appointed to the Board and I look forward to seeing what we can accomplish together in the future.”
