The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce that the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center will host a series of hikes to observe wintering seals. From now through March of 2023, you can join an educator to learn more about seals at Jones Beach and watch them swim in the bay. Along the hike, there will be opportunities to see many winter birds and to explore marine geology. If you’d like, bring binoculars!
Hikers should meet at the Jones Beach Energy & Nature Center located at the West End of Jones Beach. Please try to arrive 10 minutes before the start time. Wear clothing appropriate for the weather and comfortable shoes for hiking. We will be outdoors for approximately 1.5 hours. Strollers are not recommended.
