Experience seals in their natural environment! The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce that Montauk Point State Park will host a series of walks to observe wintering seals. Weekend through April 24, 2022, a State Park naturalist will lead visitors on a scenic beach walk to an area where up to four specie of seals can be observed. Along the hike, there will be opportunities to see many winter birds and to explore marine geology. Make sure to bring your binoculars!
SPACE IS LIMITED AND RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Reserve your spot at Eventbrite.com, search ‘Seal Walk at Montauk.’ The program fee is $4 per person upon arrival, children under 3 are free. If you are unable to keep your reservation, please call and cancel so that others may have the opportunity to attend. Latecomers will forfeit their reservation.
Hikers should meet ten minutes prior to start time at the park office in the lower parking lot. The hike is approximately 2-3 hours and about 3 miles long, please dress according to the weather. Strollers are not recommended. For more information, visit parks.ny.gov or call (631) 668-5000.
