The New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation is pleased to announce the return of the annual Summer Run Series. This eight-race series will begin Monday, June 13 and will run through Monday, August 15, 2022. Participation in the Summer Run Series will be limited to a total of 4,000 runners. Advance registration into Tier 1 or Tier 2 is required, please visit www.elitefeats.com/SummerRun.
Registration for Tier 1 includes all eight races and is open to a maximum of 2,500 runners. Cost is $90 per registrant. Online registration opens Saturday, April 2 at 6:00 AM to the first 2,000 runners. There will be an additional 500 spots available during an in-person registration on Tuesday, April 5 beginning at 6:00 AM. In-person registration will take place at the Long Island State Park Headquarters, 625 Belmont Avenue, West Babylon, NY 11704.
Registration for Tier 2 and wheelchair accessible races is open to a maximum of 1,500 runners. Cost is $65 per registrant. Tier 2 registration includes the following four races only: Heckscher 5-mile on June 13, Sunken Meadow 10K on July 25, Heckscher 5K on August 8, and Jones Beach 5-mile on August 5. Wheelchair accessible races includes the following four races only: Heckscher 5-mile on June 13, Caumsett 5K on July 25, Heckscher 5K on August 8, and Jones Beach 5-mile on August 5. Online registration opens Wednesday, April 6 at 6:00 AM to the first 1,250 runners. An additional 250 spots will open in-person once Tier 1 has reached capacity at the Long Island State Park Headquarters.
The Summer Run Series is sponsored by the Natural Heritage Trust, 106.1 WBLI, 102.3 WBAB, Runner Edge, Bethpage Federal Credit Union, Boening Brothers, Performax Physical Therapy and Wellness, Catholic Health, Newsday, and Dole Sunshine.
