Wyandanch Union Free School District is proud to announce its partnership with Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library, making it the only school district on Long Island to offer this remarkable literacy program to the young children in the Wyandanch community.
Through the Imagination Library, children in Wyandanch from ages birth to 5 can receive free, high-quality books delivered to their homes each month.
This opportunity was made possible through the dedication of Assistant Superintendent for Administrative and Instructional Accountability Dr. Christine Jordan, who championed the initiative to ensure that Wyandanch children enter school ready to learn.
“Fostering a love of reading and learning starts at a young age and it is the foundation of academic success,” said Dr. Jordan. “The partnership with the Imagination Library is a game-changer for Wyandanch families, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to develop a love for reading and will start school prepared to thrive.”
Families can register by visiting the Imagination Library website at imaginationlibrary.com/check-availability. For Spanish-speaking families, the website offers an option to switch languages by clicking in the top right corner of the page.
Dolly Parton created the Imagination Library in 1995 and has provided millions of books to children worldwide, promoting early childhood literacy and development.
