Writing Partners Team Up To Review Each Other’s Stories For Clarity

Babylon Elementary School students in Ms. Vedder and Ms. Huber’s class partnered for a writing assignment aimed at improving writing clarity. Students became editors for the day, critiquing their classmates’ works to ensure that all the details needed to tell a clear and compelling story were included.

Babylon Elementary School students partnered up for a lesson in writing clarity.

As part of the assignment, the students partnered up and read a nonfiction book they had written. The partner listened for any parts that might be confusing or missing details needed for clarity. The lesson reinforced important listening, reading and writing comprehension skills as well as give students an introduction to editing another person’s work.
