Woods Road Elementary School in the North Babylon School District held a Veterans Day celebration to honor local heroes on Nov. 8. Family and friends of Woods Road students were invited to the school to be honored and recognized for their service. The ceremony began outdoors with a flag raising and songs from North Babylon High School musicians. During the assembly portion, each service member in attendance was welcomed in with a Woods Road student and recognized individually. Each grade level sang a different patriotic song in tribute to the veterans.
