Student leaders in the orchestra at Winthrop Avenue School in the Bellmore Public School District are hard at work practicing for their upcoming spring concert.
Under the direction of orchestra teacher Erica Glikos, Winning Star Leaders in the third grade regularly meet to hone their skills on their stringed instruments. During a recent lesson, they worked on adding dynamics to their concert music while also practicing scales and sight reading. Students also prepared for NYSSMA, where they were challenged to play in front of judges.
