Weather Update and Storm Preparedness Tips From the Town of Hempstead

A tropical storm warning and flash flood warning are currently in effect for Long Island, as the region prepares for inclement weather forecasted to make landfall on Friday and Saturday.

Hempstead Town Supervisor Don Clavin and the Town Board remind residents to prepare for potentially hazardous weather events by developing a storm/hurricane preparedness plan, especially during the Atlantic hurricane season that runs from June to November.

Please utilize the Town of Hempstead’s Hurricane Preparedness Guide as a resource for finding important phone numbers and tips for staying safe even in poor weather conditions. The digital guide may also be printed and kept in an easy-to-access location in your home.
