Town Honors Old Bethpage Resident For Charitable Efforts For Cancer Causes

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and his colleagues on the Town Board recently honored Jennifer Biren, of Old Bethpage, for her exceptional charitable efforts as the Volunteer Event Chair of the Plainview-Old Bethpage Relay for Life, benefitting the American Cancer Society, as well as her remarkable community service to aid those in need.

“Along with her team, Jennifer helped raise hundreds of thousands of dollars for the American Cancer Society and has spearheaded several creative cancer-related fundraising initiatives, all while demonstrating unwavering support for those who are fighting for their lives,” said Supervisor Saladino. “She is constantly looking for ways to volunteer her time to help those in need every single day to make a true difference.”

In addition to her work with Relay for Life, Jennifer also organized several fundraisers during the pandemic to aid our Frontline Heroes. She contacted local hospitals and arranged for meals and snacks to be delivered so that employees felt appreciated while they worked around the clock. She also devotes time to the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District and the PTA, volunteers at the Mid-Island Y JCC, and offers emergency babysitting to families in need.
