Town Celebrates Jericho Schools Superintendent Retiring After 30 Years

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and his colleagues on the Town Board recently honored Jericho Union Free School District Superintendent Henry Grishman, of Old Bethpage, as he retires after 30 years as Superintendent of the Jericho Schools, and 58 years as an educator. Hank is currently the longest serving Superintendent in New York State.

Supervisor Saladino stated, “While your presence will be missed, your legacy in education will continue in the hearts and minds of all the students you have guided throughout your decades of service. The future truly is brighter because of you and your leadership, and the valuable lessons you’ve instilled in your students, staff, and the Jericho community. Congratulations, Hank, on your incredible career!”

During his tenure as educational leader, Jericho students and staff have won several national awards, including National Merit Scholarships, Siemens and INTEL competitions, as well as various awards of distinction. Due, in no small part, to Hank’s leadership, the Jericho School District is consistently ranked as one of the best open enrollment schools in the United States in all the top polls.
