Town Board Honors Marauders Boys Basketball Team On Historic Win!

Each year during the month of April, the Islip Town Board designates the Town Board meeting to celebrate the many wonderful Islip students at its annual Student Community Service Awards Celebration.

“Throughout the Town of Islip, we are so fortunate to have some of the finest schools, filled with tremendously talented students and athletes,” said Islip Town Supervisor, Angie Carpenter.

To start things off this year, the Town Board members were joined by the stellar players and coaches of Bay Shore High School’s Boys’ Varsity Basketball.

The Bay Shore Marauders recently clinched their first Long Island Triple-A Championship in over 40 years. After an incredible undefeated season with a record of 24 and 0, the Marauders took a 66-45 victory over Baldwin, the Nassau County champions.

Under the leadership of Coach Ken Parham, the Marauders’ cohesive teamwork and balanced scoring lead to their success and their first Long Island Championship win since 1981. 43 Years!

“Please join us in congratulating Bay Shore High School’s Varsity Boys’ Basketball on their historic season and victory. Go Marauders!” concluded Supervisor Carpenter.
