R.C. Murphy Junior High School global history teacher Kristin Stelfox participated in the 103rd annual National Council for the Social Studies Conference last month in continued partnership with the 9/11 Memorial Museum. This past summer, Ms. Stelfox was selected for the inaugural Institute for Educators at the museum.
Ms. Stelfox and five other teachers spent four days at the December conference supporting the education programs team from the 9/11 Memorial Museum by helping thousands of social studies teachers develop best practices for teaching Sept. 11 to diverse students who were not yet born. Additionally, Ms. Stelfox was a keynote speaker at the conference’s closing singer-songwriter event hosted by the museum to thank educators for all the work they do.
