The Jazz Loft Holding Food Drive for Long Island’s Increasing Numbers of Food Insecure Families

Approximately 259,000 people on Long Island suffer from food insecurity and that includes 79,000 children. These numbers are just growing as we enter the second year of the COVID-19 pandemic. This is where you can help. They may not be able to fill the Jazz Loft with people right now, but they can use the space to fill it with food!

March 8-13 the Jazz Loft will be sponsoring a food collection to be donated to local food pantries. Non-perishable items can be dropped off at the Jazz Loft front receptacle anytime. The following shopping menu lists examples of items to feed a family:

Cans of green or mixed veggies
Canned Corn
Canned Soup
Fruit
Can of tomato product or jar of sauce
Box mac n’ cheese
Box or bag of cereal
Peanut butter & jelly
Coffee or tea or hot cocoa
Snack item (granola bars, fruit cups, fruit snacks, chips, etc.),
Optional $20 grocery store gift card (for fresh goods- milk, eggs, butter, fresh fruit, etc.)
