With the help of special guest, Stony Brook University Hospital resident pediatrician Sean O’Connor, kindergarten students at Tackan Elementary got some great safety tips on Jan. 20.
Mr. O’Connor spoke to the children about the proper ways to keep safe while riding a bicycle by always wearing a helmet. As a way to prove this, he had students drop two eggs: one with a “helmet” and one without. He also discussed seat belt safety in cars.
The students then proceeded to their stations where they acted like doctors, diagnosed and provided cures for their teddy bears.
