First graders at Hiawatha Elementary School in Sachem showed off their future career paths during the building’s annual career day parade. Students dressed up as what they want to be when they grow up and paraded in their costumes and uniforms in front of their families. Several careers were represented ranging from first responders, to artists, to health care workers. The first graders performed three songs, and each took a turn announcing their future career on the microphone. The event followed a classroom unit on careers.
