Fourth graders in Ms. Reichert’s class at Susan E. Wiley Elementary School were challenged to think outside the box during a recent hands-on STEM lesson. Working in small groups, the students brainstormed three different ways that they could pop a balloon without using sharp objects. The students came up with some creative – and successful – methods to get their balloons to pop including using their body weight, heavy objects, the wall and the desk.
