During a recent STEM lab, third graders in Ms. DeLapi’s class at South Bay Elementary School in the West Babylon School District tested their knowledge of force. Students created a ramp using cardboard and books. Using a toy car, they raced them down the ramp and predicted how far the cars would travel. To create friction, students placed a cotton cloth at the bottom of the ramp and again predicted how far the car would travel.
