Smithtown High School West Girls And Boys Soccer Teams Win Long Island Championships

Talk about a running of the bulls. For the first time in school history, the Smithtown High School West boys and girls soccer teams both won Long Island Championships. Not just in the same year, but rather, the same weekend.

For the first time in school history, the Smithtown West boys and girls soccer programs won Long Island Championships in the same season

High School West advanced to the state semi-finals on Saturday, Nov. 11 in Cortland.

On Nov. 5,  it was the boys turn to pull off a 1-0 victory.  Senior John Savino’s second-half goal was the only score of the game as the Bulls defeated Manhasset 1-0 to win the boys soccer Long Island Class AA championship at Pat-Med High.

High School West meets Scarsdale of Section I on Saturday, Nov. 11, at Middletown High at 8:30 a.m.
