Senator Mario R. Mattera (2nd Senate District) was honored to welcome the students, administrators and teachers from Commack School District who travelled to Albany this week. Senator Mattera met with the students of the Legislative Advocacy Committee in his office and took them on a tour of the Senate Chamber.
During the visit, Senator Mattera and the students discussed issues of importance to the students including experiential learning, mental health for students and local decisions on graduation measures.
“I thank the students and staff for coming to Albany to provide me with their thoughts on these issues. Their grasp of the topics was very impressive and we had an interesting conversation. It is my hope that they enjoyed their visit as much as my office did and that they will always be involved in their government,” stated Senator Mattera.
