Saladino, Pravato Attend Plainview Bridge Dedication In Memory Of Fallen Nassau Police Officer Daniel Greer

Oyster Bay Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Receiver of Taxes Jeff Pravato joined County Executive Bruce Blakeman, state and county officials, as well as representatives from the Nassau County Police Department and Nassau PBA to dedicate a memorial bridge at the overpass of Sunnyside Blvd. along the Long Island Expressway in Plainview. Officer Greer served with the NCPD for 13 years and lost his life during a traffic stop along the expressway in 1979.

“Officer Greer was a top cop in the bravest sense and did not hesitate to act, even when the situation was perilous. He put the safety of our residents ahead of his own,” said Supervisor Saladino. “During his tenure, Officer Greer earned the respect of his colleagues with his dedication, a legacy that lives on today. He made the ultimate sacrifice while serving his fellow citizens, and his legacy in emergency service lives on through the men and women currently serving in the NCPD.”
