Town Supervisor Joseph Saladino and Town Board members recently honored a former employee for his extreme heroism. John Huttle, Jr., a longtime Town sanitation worker and resident of Bethpage, was returning back to the Syosset yard the morning of December 23rd 2022, and noticed a car fire which took place as a result of a bad car accident. Without hesitation John stopped at the scene and immediately went into action releasing a young child who was stuck in a car seat, and saved the child’s life. Supervisor Saladino recognized John’s ability to act quickly and courageously and thanked him for his selflessness, presenting him with a Town citation.
