(L-R) Sachem students Jaden Rudnicki, Dylan McKay and Gianna Marchese will be part of the Macy’s Great American Marching Band and participate in the annual Thanksgiving Day Parade.

Three Sachem Central School District students will march in front of thousands on the streets of New York City During the 96th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade. Congratulations to Sachem High School East tenth grader Jaden Rudnicki, senior Dylan McKay and Sachem High School North senior Gianna Marchese.

Rudnicki, who plays the French horn, McKay who plays the trumpet and Marchese who plays the flute, were selected to be a part of the 2022 Macy’s Great American Marching Band. This group brings together the finest high school musicians to share their talents as they march down Central Park West, Sixth Avenue and head to Macy’s Herald Square.

These students auditioned to be a part of the band last December and are three of 185 musicians who were selected to perform. Ahead of the parade, they will participate in a week full of rehearsals and events with the other band members. Not only will these Sachem student-musicians perform for thousands of live viewers, millions will be tuning into the televised broadcast.
