Three students from Sachem High School North were selected to have their work displayed in national publications. Sophomore Danielle Castro and senior Tommy Dang had their art chosen to be displayed in the March edition of the Davis Art SchoolArts Magazine. Additionally, sophomore Rebecca Lowry had her art selected for the back cover of the 2023-2024 Davis Art Monthly Planner. Both publications are distributed and viewed by thousands of art educators from across the country.
Sachem High School North art teachers Lauren Gonzalez and Renee Parisi said they were extremely proud of their students and are confident this is just the beginning of their work being published.
“Having students have the opportunity to be published and to see what it’s like to present their work at the national level is an amazing opportunity, resume-builder and confidence booster,” said Ms. Gonzalez.
Students submitted artwork they created in-class to this contest. They say they are grateful to have the opportunity to connect with national publications.
“It definitely gives me the confidence to put my art out there more,” Castro said.
