Supervisor Joseph Saladino and the Oyster Bay Town Board invite residents to cheer on the Massapequa Coast Little League at 7:00PM this Friday, August 12th at Burns Park as their Little League Metro Region Championship game is streamed live from Bristol, Connecticut.
“The players of the Massapequa Coast Little League truly are our hometown champions. Already crowned Little League New York State Champions, this 11 and 12 year old team is the first in the League’s 72 year history to advance to regionals, and now, with a win on Friday, may even have an opportunity to compete in Williamsport for the Little League World Series,” Supervisor Saladino said.
Following playoff victories against teams from New Jersey and Fairfield, Massapequa Coast will play in the Little League Metro Region Championship game this Friday, August 12, in Connecticut. ESPN will livestream the game, and it will be shown live at Burns Park (4990 Merrick Road, Massapequa Park) beginning at 7:00PM. With a win on Friday, Massapequa Coast will advance to Williamsport for their first-ever opportunity to compete in the Little League World Series.
“Bring your coolers, blankets, chairs, and hometown pride to our Watch Party around the big screen at Burns Park this Friday. Let’s show our support for the Massapequa Coast Little League as they compete for a spot in the Little League World Series!” Supervisor Saladino concluded.
