Earl L. Vandermeulen High School students Mari Fukoto, Will Harris, Rose Meliker-Hammock and Marlo Pepe participated in the Port Jefferson Village Dickens Festival on Dec. 2 and 3. The students worked as elves in Santa Central at the First United Methodist Church.

The elves greeted visitors as they entered the workshop, handed out paper for the kids to write last minute letters to Santa and helped Santa take photos.

“Children of all ages were so happy to see Santa and the elves,” Port Jefferson Drama Club adviser Tony Butera said. “After the children had their picture taken with Santa, they each received an “I Met Santa” sticker! Thanks to the Greater Port Jefferson Arts Council for this opportunity.”
