Pink Aid Long Island Celebrates Selection As A Stop & Shop Community Bag Program Beneficiary

Pinkaid.org has been selected as a beneficiary of the Stop  & Shop Community Bag Program for the month of February. The Stop &  Shop Community Bag Program is a reusable bag program that facilitates community support with the goal to make a difference in the communities where shoppers live and work.

Pinkaid.org was selected as the February beneficiary of the program by store leadership at the Stop & Shop located at 60 Wall Street in Huntington, NY. Pink Aid Long Island will receive a $1 donation every time the $2.50 reusable Community Bag is purchased at this location during February. Cold Spring Harbor High School Senior, Veronica Walkin, has been creating fundraisers, including lemonade stands and tennis tournaments, for Pink Aid, since she was in preschool. She registered Pink Aid for the program early in 2022 after learning about the opportunity through Stop and Shop’s corporate website. Veronica states “Buying a bag when you shop at Stop and Shop on Wall Street will help financially challenged men and women and their families, who have been diagnosed with breast cancer, to receive support to keep their lights on and to put food on the table, gas in the car for therapy and provide the basic needs to survive.”

Pink Aid is a nonprofit which started in Connecticut and our chapter here on Long Island started in Huntington in 20013.  This year we celebrate our 10-year anniversary.
