Patchogue-Medford’s Jayden Stroman and Olivia Liddell Honored

Patchogue-Medford High School class of 2025 graduates Jayden Stroman and Olivia Liddell were recently recognized at the 25th Annual Butch Dellecave Awards ceremony. The prestigious event, held at Villa Lombardi’s in Holbrook, celebrates the top student-athletes from Suffolk County for their achievements in academics, athletics, and community service.

“Patchogue-Medford is proud to recognize these two exemplary students for their accomplishments, on and off the field,” said Anthony Cracco, Patchogue-Medford School District’s Director of Physical Education, Health, and Athletics. “We are extremely proud of both Jayden and Olivia for their outstanding contributions to Raiders Athletics, and we are grateful to the Dellecave Foundation for recognizing their hard work, dedication, and success.”

Named in honor of the late Gaetano “Butch” Dellecave—an esteemed educator, official, and coach—the awards are supported by a 25-year partnership between Suffolk County school districts, the Butch Dellecave Foundation, Newsday, and the Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk, Inc. Each year, athletic directors from Suffolk County’s high schools are invited to nominate a male and a female senior who best exemplify athletic excellence, strong academics, and meaningful contributions to their respective community.

Jayden Stroman, a member of the Patchogue-Medford High School baseball and indoor track and field teams, was named the male recipient of the 2025 Butch Dellecave Award in recognition of his outstanding accomplishments. A remarkable student-athlete, Jayden’s leadership, character, and dedication made him stand out in an impressive field of nominees. Jayden also won the lauded Carl Yastrzemski Award, presented by the Suffolk County Baseball Coaches Association to Suffolk’s most outstanding player, and was named the Newsday Baseball Player of the Year. In the fall, Jayden plans to continue his studies and baseball career at the University of Virginia.

Olivia Liddell—a volleyball, basketball, and lacrosse player at Patchogue-Medford High School—was honored at the ceremony as a finalist for the female Butch Dellecave Award. Her commitment to academic success, athletic achievement, and community service earned her a place among the top female student-athletes in Suffolk County. Olivia will attend Stony Brook University in the fall, where she will continue her studies and play on the lacrosse team.
