‘Pancakes For Parkinson’s’ Raises Money For Michael J. Fox Foundation

The Sachem High School East volunteer club is cooking for a cause. The club held its “Pancakes for Parkinson’s” event on Dec. 7, where students and staff members could buy pancakes to support the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research. Pancakes cost $1 each and the club raised a total of $1,721 – a record high for the annual event. Over the past 10 years, the volunteer club has raised a total of $12,000 to support the foundation.

Members of the club made pancakes throughout the day, selling them to students and staff for $1 each.

The Michael J. Fox Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for Parkinson’s disease. It is focused on engaging in research and supporting the development of improved therapies for those living with the disease.
