Pal-O-Mine Equestrian Announces GEICO’s Support for Its Front Line Heroes Program

Pal-O-Mine Equestrian, Inc. (www.pal-o-mine.org, Islandia, NY), a private, not for profit organization providing a comprehensive therapeutic equine program using horses to facilitate growth, learning and healing for children and adults with disabilities, announced that GEICO will be supporting its Front Line Heroes Program and made a donation of $2,000 to underwrite the program. The program is free to medical professionals and first responders.

The Front Line Heroes Program was designed to help support those on the front line fighting the Corona virus with virtual and in-person wellness sessions at Pal-O-Mine’s 13-acre working farm. These sessions include reiki, mindfulness and a wide range of experiences with Pal-O-Mine’s horses and other animals that live on the farm. All sessions are facilitated by licensed social workers, reiki masters and certified equine specialists.

Pal-O-Mine introduced its Front Line Heroes Program in May 2020 at the height of the pandemic in the New York area. At the time, Pal-O-Mine CEO and Founder, Lisa Gatti stated, “There are many well-documented benefits of being outdoors and in nature such as reduced stress and a heightened sense of calm, connection and solace. It has been proven that animals and nature together help lower our heart rate, blood pressure and muscle tension. We want to help our frontline heroes achieve these positive benefits.”

She added, “Having the support of GEICO, a leading insurance provider, helps us continue this program and further validates its value.”

In recognition of its support for this vital program, GEICO’s banner will be on display in front of Pal-O-Mine’s Old Nichols Road location and its employees will experience a virtual farm experience as well.
