Grand Opening in Port Jefferson Station!

One River School is pleased to announce that a new art and design school is coming to Port Jefferson Station.  One River, a company built to transform art education in America, announced it will officially open its newest location and with a Grand Opening Ribbon Cutting on February 29, 2020. The Grand Opening will be preceded by a week of FREE Workshops from February 24-27, 2020. This franchise location at 5070 Nesconset Highway Port Jefferson Station, New York (in the Home Goods/Carnival Shopping center) is owned by Matthew Boskin and Joe Tsai and managed by Jacquelyn Lipp.

Beginning March 2nd, the school will offer year-round studio and digital art classes for all ages and skill levels in their new state of the art facility. They teach through the lens of living artists incorporating contemporary art into their curriculum. In addition to a vibrant art curriculum, One River also provides an on-site open gallery space that exhibits work from professional contemporary artists, as well as student and community exhibitions.

With their innovative curriculum, One River School has developed hundreds of proprietary lesson plans that connect students to the most current artistic movements and explore the practices of living artists at the forefront of the global art scene. The program is designed to engage students through fun and interactive learning, focused programs to build fundamental skills, and energetic environments to foster friendships. The talented instructors at One River are masterful artists who connect their students to projects that highlight the student’s individual interests and skills.

Their program offerings include classes that accommodate the needs of the students through a flexible membership with numerous benefits. Twice a year One River School holds Student Exhibitions, they have special events, discounts on classes and merchandise, exclusive events, and more.

Jacquelyn Lipp, the Director of One River School Art + Design in Port Jefferson Station holds a Masters from SUNY New Paltz in fine arts in painting and art history.  Born and raised in St. James, New York, Jacquelyn has always been engaged in the arts and local community activities. She left to study abroad in Florence, Italy and has lived in various places including Maui, Hawaii. She indicated when this opportunity came to her she just knew it was a perfect fit.

“I am beyond excited and feel blessed for this opportunity to provide the local community with a fun engaging space to expand their creative potential.  Giving emerging artists opportunities to share their work, collaborate and expose others to their artistic vision is something I have always been passionate about.  Now it is a reality” said Jacquelyn Lipp, Director.  “I am thankful for the opportunity to share contemporary art through our transformative art education programs. The Grand Opening celebration starts with a week of FREE workshops from February 24th – 27th.

During Grand Opening weekend, One River will host two full days of hands-on art workshops, school tours, opportunities to meet One River School’s teachers and staff, and open enrollment for their classes. Online PRE-REGISTRATION is highly encouraged to RESERVE SPACE in the FREE Workshops.  Classes begin on March 2 with Summer camps beginning on June 29th.
