On Thursday, February 23, 2023, more than 200 deserving children ages 5-12 from local Nassau County organizations were treated to a day of carnival games, sweet snacks like snow cones and cotton candy, a pizza truck, and fun, including games and dancing, and a special visit from Nassau County Administrative Judge Hon. Vito M. DeStefano, at the 33rd Annual Children’s Festival.

Also in attendance were celebrity mascots including Mr. Met from the New York Mets, Sparky the Dragon from the New York Islanders, and QuackerJack from the Long Island Ducks.

The Children’s Festival is held annually, courtesy of volunteer attorneys and judges of the Nassau County Bar Association’s charitable arm, the WE CARE Fund, with a mission to instill positive attitudes and relationships with the local legal community and provide a fun activity during school winter break.

The WE CARE Fund, a part of the Nassau Bar Foundation, the charitable arm of the Nassau County Bar Association (NCBA), receives contributions from the Nassau County legal community and local businesses. Conceived by NCBA Past President Stephen Gassman as a vehicle for the organized Bar to use its resources to improve the quality of life for those in need―and nurtured by the tireless efforts of lawyers and judges―WE CARE has raised over $5 million to assist more than 100 charitable organizations in Nassau County.
