MacArthur High School’s Three Cheer Teams Win Big At Regional Championship

All three cheer teams at General Douglas MacArthur High School in the Levittown Public School District have qualified for the National High School Cheerleading Championship in Orlando, Florida.

The General Douglas MacArthur High School Game Day cheerleading team won first place at the Universal Cheerleaders Association’s Poconos Regional Championship.

The Varsity Game Day team, the Varsity Traditional team and the Junior Varsity team attended the Universal Cheerleaders Association’s Poconos Regional Championship on Dec. 3. The Varsity Game Day and the Junior Varsity teams took first place in their divisions. This is the first time in MacArthur’s history that the Game Day and JV teams are being sent to regionals and nationals. The all-girl Traditional team finished second place and also received a bid to attend the NHSCC.

The all-girl Traditional team finished second place and, like the other two team, received a bid to attend the National High School Cheerleading Championship.

The NHSCC is among the most prestigious of high school national championships and will take place in February.
