The Long Island landmarks are among more than 1,500 sites in all 50 states and 13 other countries/territories “going teal” for Alzheimer’s awareness on November 3. This is the 12th year of AFA’s Light the World in Teal campaign.

Individuals can also participate in raising Alzheimer’s awareness by “going teal” on their own November 3. You can wear teal or even use social media to raise awareness.

Nearly 7 million Americans, including more than 60,000 Long Islanders, are currently living with Alzheimer’s disease. The number of people with Alzheimer’s is projected to double by 2060, according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
